The Journey So Far
Founded in 2004, Solution Into Motion LTD embarked on a journey with a vision to revolutionize the way we track and manage assets. Founder, Vince Poloniato, had sold a chain of cellular mobility stores as the catalyst to move onto his new GPS tracking venture.
“Twenty years ago we saw this exciting new technology that was in the infancy of being brought to the commercial market. We knew there was a need for businesses to drive efficiencies into their fleets and that GPS was a technology that could deliver that,” says Poloniato. “Coming from the world of cellular electronics and data communications, positioned us well to hit the ground running and we never looked back”
Their flagship product, Trackem GPS, quickly became synonymous with reliability, accuracy, and efficiency. Many businesses across various industries became reliant on Trackem GPS to monitor fleets, manage logistics, and enhance security. Many of those same customers are still with Trackem today.
“Over the years, we have become so familiar with the Trackem GPS system and finding new ways to use it, which is a credit to how easy the system is to manage and use,” says Nick Capretta, from Claybar Contracting Inc., who has been a Trackem GPS client since 2007.
In the early years of the 2000s, with numerous patent licenses secured and a custom GPS software platform built, Trackem took off, with a stronghold in Southern Ontario business fleets. Businesses in landscaping, construction, towing, HVAC, and more, became familiar with Trackem and the business steadily grew. Soon after, the company begins growing beyond Ontario, across Canada, and into the US. Trackem began securing larger contracts with bussing companies, government contracts, and large fleet businesses.

It’s simple, it improves efficiency and time management at a more than fair price,” says Jim Neeve of Metro Truck Group, who has been with Trackem since 2011.
Since 2004, GPS technology has seen many changes. Hardware has become more capable of collecting various data types and monitoring many functions (location, fuel, maintenance, temperature, mileage, etc.). The Trackem GPS software platform has seen several iterations and updates, with the latest, simplest, and most robust version launched in 2023.
In 2018, Solution Into Motion LTD expanded its horizons with the launch of WhereSafe GPS, catering to the needs of individuals and families seeking peace of mind through location-tracking solutions.
WhereSafe is an app-based GPS service, that allows users to keep tabs on cars, RVs, boats, power sports equipment, as well as young or elderly family members, all on their smartphones. WhereSafe GPS quickly gained traction in the market, earning accolades for its user-friendly interface and robust features designed to keep loved ones safe and connected.
